spirals, circles, symbols, trees

in my heart, i've always been an artist.
i have been drawing, painting and sculpting since childhood. to escape a dark and tumultuous home-life, i took refuge along the shores of Lake Ontario, my childhood home, where i cultivated intimate relationship with trees and nature. a five mile hike along the shores for clay to bring home to sculpt small animals, sun dry, then sell for loose change door-to-door to kind neighbors at a nearby retirement community. those memories are some of the happiest in my mind. co-creating with earth and enjoying the wisdom of elders.
although my home life lacked tenderness, i was fortunate to have been blessed with amazing teachers. teachers who showed me glimpses into other worlds, other realities...the vast capacity of knowing - the Quest.
i'm drawn to symbols, colors, spiritual archetypes and mysticism; labyrinths, mandalas, the enneagram, yantra, orbs, spiritual and religious studies. i best describe my art as visionary symbolism.
i dont usually plan my paintings, unless im working with a precise symbol - and then its freeform movement coupled with song and meditation that emerges into what i call my art. textures and colors that move through and around me help me create emotional pieces that help me carry my feelings. colors that remind me of moods ago.
i was ordained as minister with the Madonna Ministry in 2014, am a Reiki Master Teacher, Nia Brown Belt, reflexologist, animal communicator and i received a masters degree in wisdom spirituality with indigenous mind concentration, June 2013 from wisdom university.
