A Healing Mandala for the Blanco River
Participants came and went...adding their colors and marks with their silence and prayers. They focused intention for healing for the people, the river, the trees and all the land. From noon until 7:30 pm people of all ages took some time to enter the circle with reverence...while creating, together, a beautiful, transient piece of art. Then, the same ones, lovingly and fervently destroyed it...sweeping all the colors and prayers into a muted ash pile. The sand, much like the LCD (liquid crystal data) screen holds data, holds our prayers and thoughts was then gathered into container and taken to the creek where it would then take all the peoples prayers into the river.

It was a blazing hot day Saturday, June 26, at the Cypress Creek Cafe. The theme for the mandala was healing for the Blanco River. I created a sacred space, a circle and a center. I started with sand saved from the first mandala event in 2005...and the rest...keeping a sort of fermented gathering of prayers for healing. All the circles becoming one...which each community that did this...
